"Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has eclipsed the 4,000-yard passing mark for the second straight season, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for 4,000 yards in each of his first two seasons.
Winston needed 112 yards heading into Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. He already has the most passing yards of any quarterback before his 23rd birthday, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. He will turn 23 on Jan. 6.
Winston still has the chance to break other records, including Andrew Luck's record for passing yards for a quarterback in his first two seasons. Heading into the game, Winston needed 267 yards to pass Luck's record of 8,196.
With a touchdown throw to Mike Evans, Winston has broken the Bucs' single season touchdown record. Winston and Josh Freeman were tied at 27 heading into Sunday's game. Winston now has 28. He also has broken the team's single-season passing record. The Bucs led with 17-10 with 1:07 to go in the fourth quarter and are on the verge of their first winning season since 2010."
