DOAK CAMPBELL STADIUM
Florida State SeminolesTallahassee
Opened in 1950, Doak Campbell Stadium is home to the Florida State Seminoles. Named in honor of university president Doak S. Campbell, the field was named after Bobby Bowden in 2004. The full name of the complex is Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium. What a mouthful.
With a capacity of just under 80,000 seats, Doak, as it’s simply referred, is the 20th largest college football stadium in America. And the Seminoles have done a historically great job at protecting their home turf.
Since 2010, the ‘Noles have gone 50-12 in front of their home crowd. Going back to the beginning, though, Florida State’s posted a 291-89-4 (.763) mark at home. The 2019 season will mark the ‘Noles 69th season at Doak. To not have a combined 100 total losses is remarkable.
Four of the top five crowds at Doak have come against in-state rivals Miami and Florida. Each pulled in over 84,000 fans.
