Usually, collections in the State Archives contain groups of documents preserved together so that one can fully understand the context of their relationships with each other. However, sometimes one document in a collection can tell a story on its own. The Stone Family Papers, collection M88-1, contains one such gem, a Florida State University Stadium Ticket Agreement. For a mere $50 each, individuals or corporations purchased seating spaces in the proposed Doak S. Campbell football stadium. Despite being completed two days late, it only took five months to construct the stadium with a capacity of 15,000 seats. Doak S. Campbell Stadium opened on October 7, 1950, with a Florida State 40-7 victory over Randolph-Macon in front of 9,676 fans. For more on the Stone Family Papers: http://bit.ly/2gLl2UU.
