Are there plans to extend the club seat project around the entire perimeter similar to a pro stadium?  New video boards? Chairback seating, etc...

There is a plan to wrap it around but it wont be happening any time soon."

Please no on chairbacks in entire stadium. It will ruin the atmosphere and encourage more people to sit on their butts the whole game and complain about the people standing.
We would never do that. We brought in HKS who designed the stadium in Dallas and hired them to put together a comprehensive stadium design which we have. The endzone project is kind of phase 1 of that plan. What they and other stadium designers say is that you need to have 10 or more experiences, something for everyone.

We will always have bleacher seats for students and visitor and those who want that experience.
But we will also offer more comfortable experiences for our Seminole fans who want it.
We have 100 skyboxes with 20-24 each, the Big Box (about 200 people), the President's Box (about 200), the Varsity Club box (about 400), the University Center (about 600).
We will build the club seat section by 2016 and sales are off to a good start.
That club seat design will be done in such a way that we can extend it on the East and West side whenever the demand for that exists."

Yea, I hope they don't wrap the stadium all around with chair backs. It will undoubtedly change the atmosphere and not for the better. I would hope they focus under the bleachers. My wife and I walked around under the stadium during the open practice and it was embarrassing. It looked dirty, it smelled like garbage juice in deferent places and water leaking everywhere. It just wasn't appealing at all. Just didn't seem like a top D1 stadium underneath. Plus, hopefully when we need to expand the stadium we can add an upper deck to the North Endzone. I think that would look sharp.
Its unlikely we'd wrap them all the way around.
I agree with you it is ugly under there and we're planning to address it when we build the club seat section, which will fund those improvements to the concourses.

The price estimates to do all renovations under there are north of $30 million so you have to have a funding source. Our goal is to do it at the same time, between the 15 and 16 season if the Champions Campaign fundraising and Club Seat sales go well. "

outside the stadium looks great…inside the stadium is gross….students probably don't care but as you get older and have families its really a problem…..embarrassing actually.
Exactly what I say when I am presenting the Champions Campaign presentation.

We're working hard to raise the money necessary to do what is necessary. That is a cavernous facility when you walk it with contractors. Really big and really expensive to do right. The Champions Club seat project will help us raise a lot of the money needed to do this and we're also soliciting gifts. You can follow it on the Champions Campaign website over the coming years as we seek to raise the money needed and begin to render out drawings.

Jerry,

Is there a plan to paint the sideline skyboxes garnet like the new garnet paint on the end zone skyboxes? The inside of Doak is realy dull with everything gray and adding the garnet paint would be a great and inexpensive way to color it up. The stadium sits empty virtaully all year except for 7 Saturdays in the fall. Got to think improving the look inside the stadium would help recruiting too when they visit other than during gamedays.
Thanks for all you do and it really sounds like there is a good plan in place to improve everything going forward.
I will ask.
I am not a paint expert but from what I know, unless that paint is factory baked onto the metal its going to be very difficult to keep up with. The Florida sun is unrelenting and turns garnet paint pink within a couple of years. Doing the North Endzone is one thing but doing the whole stadium is quite another.
We will be replacing all the fixed glass in the skyboxes with sliding windows by the 2016 season which means we'll be tearing those panels up a bit. Any painting will need to be done after that.
I think you can add color with retired jerseys and other stuff that is more manageable than garnet paint. I will ask what, if anything, is planned for those sidelines."

no way will they paint the inside of the stadium garnet for the reason you state and also because it would be hot as the sun during the day.

As for the infrastructure.....Most of the actual stadium is 60+ years old.....any plans on replacing and or upgrading the actual structure of the stadium? Posted from wireless.rivals.com

Yeah, we have engineers studying every inch as we speak with some kind of high tech device. We'll look at the final analysis and make a decison as to what's most effective. We won't need to replace a lot I don't think. We looked at the cost to replace it all and its not only pricey but the timeline would likely force us to play a season in Jax, Orl, Tampa which I don't think our head coach would go for :)

We'll replace what needs replacing. Sandblast the rust off what's superficial. Weld. Prime. Coat. Paint. I'm told by experts that if you get it to bare metal and coat it appropriately, and maintain it, it will last as long as anything else we could build. We have to create and maintain a capital repair budget with the champions campaign."
