Thrasher academic goals?

So sad to see Thrasher just lack any real academic goals.

The one stated below is an accomplishment FSU long ago achieved and definitely not one that will get FSU to top 25.

FSU as an academic institution is rudderless sadly.  Worse, football fans love him, so they just don't care.

"Florida State University President John Thrasher served as the keynote speaker Saturday afternoon
at the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Conference.
During his speech, he hit on the economic impact the university has on Tallahassee and the state of Florida.
Thrasher told Eyewitness News that it's hard to pinpoint just one key contributing factor.
"It's students, it's our faculty, it's the research dollars, it's the overall budget of FSU, it's the salaries we pay our faculty, it's the money the students spend on the local economy," he said.
During the 2014-2015 year Florida State University had a 10 billion dollar impact on the state of Florida. $876 million were spent by FSU students alone, which contributed $44 million to Leon County's tax revenue. The university has also contributed 94,160 jobs in the sunshine state.
In total, Florida State University's budget is $1.6 billion, which is twice the size of the city of Tallahassee's budget.

Aside from talking economic impact, Thrasher also talked about some goals he has for FSU, which include becoming the nation's leading veteran-friendly university. This year alone, 400 veterans will be entering as students this fall.
As a community, the president said we need to work to help K-12 programs, tackle the crime rate and improve economic development. "
