Florida State is seeking to “Do it big” with the new renovations happening to their house, Doak Campbell Stadium. The university is planning to the upgrade both of the video boards in the north and south end-zones. The new north end-zone (above student section) video board will approximately be around 56 feet wide and 160 feet long all in HD. The current square footage is 2,400 square ft. It is expected to be 3x larger in square footage than the current one. These dimensions would put FSU’s video board ranked second behind Auburn’s new video board which is 57 feet wide and 190 feet long.
There is more. This jumbotron will also bring with it a new audio system and a control room. All of this will come with a new South end-zone video board (details coming soon). Per a reliable source inside the booster program, Florida State is pushing to get all of this done by next fall.
