Bowl Record Info

 FSU owns record for:

*Consecutive Bowl victories 11

*Consecutive Bowl games without a loss 14

*FSU was on pace to break Neb. 35 consecutive bowl games, but apparently lost that due to the NCAA removing the Kentucky Bowl game from the records a few years back.

Florida State Seminoles bowl games Wiki

"Florida State has played in 43 bowl games in its history and has a 26–14–2 record in those games. The Seminoles are the ninth most successful bowl team in history."

The 10 Longest Bowl Streaks in College Football

2012 article

"Coming in at No. 1 in dominant fashion, Florida State is in the midst of a mind-blowing 30-year bowl streak. This means that the Seminoles, in the ever-changing world of college football, have been to a bowl game each and every year since 1982. So, the last time Florida State was not in a bowl game, 1981, was also the year that Ronald Reagan was sworn into office to replace Jimmy Carter. In the apt words of Frank from Everybody Loves Raymond: Holy Crap!Bobby Bowden was in his sixth season in Tallahassee when the Noles laid a 6-5 egg and missed the bowl festivities in 1981, but since the 82 squad went 9-3 and made the Gator Bowl, FSU has racked up 30 straight. The Seminoles are a mind-numbing 22-7-1 in their current bowl streak. They havent lost one since losing the 2007 Music City Bowl to Kentucky, and their 30-year run includes seven Orange Bowls, three Fiesta Bowls and six Sugar Bowls. Yes, these guys havent been to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl every other year this is by and large top-tier stuff. Unfortunately, Florida State is only 1-5 in BCS play and is 1-2 in title tilts since the BCS took over the world in 1998. Even with the current over-saturation of bowl games, Florida States bowl streak, especially if it continues to build upon its 30-game foundation, ought to stand for many years to come. When you look at a list that includes Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Florida and Ohio State and consider the fact that Florida State has blown the field away, you get a sense for the significance of its run. Add into this how quickly the mighty can fall, as was illustrated in Texas 5-7 performance in 2010, and the Seminoles' achievement is nothing short of remarkable."
Bowl streak intact for Fisher's 'Noles

2011 article, but some info still accurate.

"This one clinched bowl eligibility for the Seminoles for a 30th consecutive year.

Nebraska holds the longest bowl streak in college football with 35 years.

"30 years in a row," FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said. "There's something [special] about that now. Everybody says, 'Well, it's no big deal.' Well, don't do it and see what happens." "

How Legit Are Bowl Game Winning Streaks?

2010 article, but some info still accurate.

"Here are the nation's top five longest bowl game winning streaks:
1. Florida State (11) - 1985-1996
2. Utah (9) - 1999, 2001, 2003-2009
2. USC (9) - 1922, 1924, 1929, 1931-1932, 1938-1939, 1943-1944
4. Boston College (8) - 2000-2007
5. Syracuse (7) - 1988-1992, 1995-1996
So just how legit are these bowl winning streaks anyway?
Some may say that Florida State and USC's bowl winning streaks are more impressive considering the fact that college football didn't have 35 different bowl games to play in back in the day. To their credit, Utah did win two BCS bowl games in that span, but there's also a lot of second- and third-tier bowl games mixed in there. Same can be said for BC. In contrast, during Florida State's bowl dominance, the Seminoles rattled off seven wins in bowl games that would become BCS bowls (3 Orange Bowls, 2 Fiesta Bowls and 2 Sugar Bowls).
FSU beat Oklahoma State, Indiana, Nebraska, Auburn, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Nebraska, Florida and Notre Dame during their record streak -- all programs that are now a member of a BCS conference. "
