Doak after Dark sells 7,000 tix

7K x $20.  FSU made a little money with this new revenue stream, plus makes football weekends more entertaining for visiting fans.  Smart move by FSU.

It’s the first time in almost 30 years that Doak Campbell Stadium has hosted a concert. On Saturday night, over 7,000 people bought tickets to see country artists Old Dominion and Tyler Farr in concert.Doak Campbell Stadium hasn’t seen a ticketed concert since 1989. FSU staff says the excitement around town has been electric.
But the process has been a long one. FSU Associate Athletic Director, Jason Dennard says they wanted to give out of town folks a reason to come to Tallahassee.
"It'll be great just being able to be in the stadium, use the stadium, and have a bunch of people here, enjoy the music and the show," Dennard says.
FSU staff began building the stage after Friday night's football game, making Doak the biggest music venue in the city.
"It’s like exciting to be in the stadium and hear a concert and listen to music," says concert goer, Payton Scott.
Sitting in the south end zone of the field, Dennard says there isn't a bad seat in the house.

"I think it’s just a good time to hang out with friends and get to be at Doak Campbell stadium and see some really good country artists," says concertgoer, Cayelyn Louks.
"It’s in their favorite football stadium and this is new so everybody wants to come and see what’s going on and I think they're going to leave happy," Dennard says.
FSU announced their headliners for a spring concert at Doak. Folks can expect to see Blake Shelton and Jake Owen in Tallahassee on April 29.
