BOTTOM LINE: This looks about right. The teams which we know are spending a lot on football are on this list. The only ACC team I was expecting to see but don't is Clemson (maybe they are #26?).

"Seems about right. Surprised no Clemson though?

FSU doesn't have to travel all that far to recruit and much of the talent is in-state. So recruiting trips aren't as expensive for coaches or recruits (officials) and tuition isn't typically high.

A school like ND who MUST recruit nationally and has higher tuition as a private school will spend more on football. But maybe that's all spelled out in the link (didn't click it). "

It's amazing that we didn't see the rest of the ACC teams, ( I get it that the private schools don't have to report (ie. Duke, Wake, BC and Syracuse), but look ND was transparent.

 Since it's only the top 25 it's not that amazing. Also, EVERY SCHOOLS reports these figures to the Feds each year. It's all available online at http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/ . "
