Not posted much on ACC lawsuit but just odds and ends posted here. The most obvious answer that gets ignored is $30 extra million dollars a year. But there are many more.
Never forget the ACC was better prepared to preemptively drop a lawsuit on Florida State than it was to coordinate bowl selections with its member institutions on Selection Sunday.

"I'm referring to the pesky habit the ACC had before ?2012? of scheduling FSU on the road the week before the ACCT, which meant 2 weeks in a row away from home and school for our student athletes. Meanwhile, UNC was at home, or at least in the state of NC almost every year the week before the ACCT. I'm sure it was just a quirky scheduling anomaly
That is what prompted Mark to leave key players at home for the ACCT. He/FSU were reprimanded and fined. Lo and behold, the next year, I believe they changed the format to have the first round at home and FSU and UNC's schedule the week before were not so disparate. To summarize, UNC in 6 years the week prior to the ACCT was out of the state of NC 1 time.
Meanwhile FSU was on the road 9 times vs 3 at home.
Mark protested and lo and behold the format changed in 2011. Who woulda’ thunk.
