Directors Cup & ACC

https://floridastate.forums.rivals.com/threads/misc-directors-cup-notes.180194/

Was looking through the latest Directors Cup standings and a couple of things stood out:

- FSU is ranked 17th with only baseball left to be scored. Could move up as high as 12th if the Noles win the CWS. Given where the other CWS teams are, I don't think there's any chance of finishing lower than 17th.

- If the track team comes around the Noles could be looking at top 10 finishes (of course no one is going to beat Stanford). Sure would be nice to see swimming competing for titles, too.

- Despite the thread someone started a while back about the ACC doing great all around in sports this year, it looks like the conference will actually finish dead last among the Power 5 in average Directors Cup team ranking. This could be of real concern if the money gap we've all been concerned about continues or increases over the next several years - as the minor sports seem even more vulnerable than football to falling behind vs. schools with larger budgets.

FWIW, the average rankings of schools in the Power 5 were as follows:

ACC 44.46
Big12 42.9
Big10 34.28
PAC12 33.25
SEC 28.7

Overall, the ACC did pretty well, but was dragged down by BC, Pitt and GTech (71, 89, & 98). The Big10 would have been easily the strongest but they were dragged down by Rutgers at 113 - the rest of their conference teams were ranked 53 or better with 3 in the top 7.
