President Thrasher charts FSU’s course for the future

Still think FSU has a major issue by not expanding it's offerings (Dental, Vet, etc) and not expanding limited mission areas (COE, COM, etc).

Our politicos won't spend political capital to advance FSU.  And just asking for more money is what every president does.  That is not spending political capital.

"And FSU is continuing to make strides. FSU’s federal research funding for the first quarter of this fiscal year was $19 million more than the first quarter of last year and represents one of the university’s best quarters ever in terms of research funding, according to Thrasher."

"Looking forward to 2017, Thrasher said the university will implement its five-year strategic plan, focus on improving metrics key to performance and preeminence funding and national rankings, recruit and retain top faculty and staff and continue to build on diversity and inclusion efforts."

"FSU is requesting $70 million from the Legislature to hire more faculty — especially in strategic research areas — to improve student-faculty ratio and retain current faculty."
