Re: Wifi in Doak

"Thanks for covering for me.
We are a bit busy on game weekends for sure .

Wifi in Doak has been studied as a high priority and I believe will happen as part of stadium renovation that we are raising money for right now in Champions Campaign and Champions Club project.

I think we can have Wifi throughout the stadium as early as 2016 if all goes well. With fundraising and club seat sales which will fund alot of it. The bids we've seen to do 80000 seats are about $4 million. We'd like to replace scoreboard too.

The techs have been testing wifi in various sections of stadium and parking lots during games this year gathering data for design.

The renovation of Doak requires us to sandblast the paint down to bare metal, replace or weld many areas were the rust is severe, then prime and coat with really expensive rust retarding paint. We really need to do most of that before we install wifi which requires you to have 1 antennae for every 100 to 150 patrons. Those antennae are placed in some easy places but in most areas of the stadium have be installed on the metal surfaces that we will be sandblasting and painting between now and 2016.

It's going to happen. High priority for athletics and boosters to improve fan experience.

Email me if you want a quick response because I may not get back here until Sunday or Monday.
