Deal reached to keep joint FAMU and FSU engineering college

Why do you need an agreement to maintain status quo?  Sounds like political BS to make it look like something was accomplished.

Notice how there has been no detail, that I can find, on what 'changing who oversees the joint college?"  Major detail being left out isn't it?  I don't think that is an accident.

Maybe some details will explain how this is progress.....but the 30 year ish history of this relationship shows that lots of noise has never equaled any kind of progress.  It is why this is an issue in the firsts place.

FAMU has always refused real change and refused to be held accountable.  Perhaps their new president, who was a great hire (better than FSU's) has brought about change.

Or maybe this is more of the same?

Deal reached to keep joint FAMU and FSU engineering college

"The chancellor of Florida's university system says an agreement has been reached over the engineering college run by Florida A&M University and Florida State University.
The Florida Board of Governors is scheduled to vote on the agreement at its meeting next week.
The deal calls for keeping the college run by the two schools located in the state capital. There was a push last year by former State Sen. John Thrasher to have each university set up separate colleges. Thrasher is now FSU's president.
The agreement calls for changing who oversees the joint college.
The deal also proposes integrating student and academic activities that had been previous been handled separately by each school. FSU and FAMU will also ask the Florida Legislature to appropriate money directly to the college."
