Last year's Rose Bowl had 16.631M. In 2020 (2019 season), the Rose Bowl had 16.30M. They had 16.781M in 2019. Something went very wrong this year. Maybe it was the January 2 date instead of New Year's Day. But the last time the Rose Bowl was played on Jan. 2 was 2017 and they still had 15.740M. This year had Penn State as opposed to Ohio State (Utah was common in both years). But PSU played in 2017 as well (USC was the Pac 12 representative).
The Rose Bowl TV ratings were the lowest ever.
