So many bad takes on this issue. Let me sum it up:
*If fans allowed it, FSU athletic dept would put a condom add over Westcott for practically $0.
*FSU athletic dept is a timid little girl afraid to push for what is best for FSU when it comes to the ACC and Swofford. Scared to DEATH to ask for uneven payout (does BC REALLY deserve it?) or even smaller issues (schedule, division alignment).
*Some of our idiotic fan base believes that because the ACC is the lowest payout conference it should never complain about this BS but in the same breath will insist FSU should never DARE to ask for better payout, or other issues that FSU needs to compete at SEC level.
*Credit to FSU, sounds like they will fix this. But FSU has CLEARLY shown over the years, it is totally tone deaf, and simply not very sophisticated with these types of matters. They are run by 'yes' men who are not very advanced and it will bite FSU in the ass again if they don't adjust their crap leadership.

One month after saying they were thinking about making "modifications" to the controversial new McDonald's billboard attached to Doak Campbell Stadium, Florida State officials are preparing to scrap the advertisement altogether.
Two university sources confirmed to Warchant on Monday that the sign, which is on the back side of the stadium's new south end zone scoreboard, will be removed at some point in August. It is not exactly clear how that space will be used going forward, but one source said it would not be for advertising.
Don't disagree with much you just said. As I've previously stated, i would sell advertising space on the butt of our football pants for ky jelly if ky was willing to pay what I'd demand. Essentially, I'm not opposed to bad advertising if it's making FSU MILLIONS...and I'm certain that McDonald's sign was not.
ReplyDeleteThat said, BC deserves acc money more than garbage ass wake. Wake is worthless. They're arguably the 6th most popular team in their only medium-large state. Small school. Nobody cares about them. Small budget. Useless. No market.
