FSU Golf Course being resdesigned by Jack Nicklaus & Co

Florida State and Nicklaus are family.
Nicklaus Design is redesigning the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course that is used by both the men's and women's golf teams at Florida State.
Jack Nicklaus Jr. is leading the design with his father playing a major part in designing the course.
“If we didn’t have the family we wouldn’t care," Jack Nicklaus said.
“That’s what makes things is your family. If we didn’t have a connection then it’s just another project. Because of the connection with the family it became a project that we really wanted to be involved in.”
Nicklaus, who had 73 PGA Tour victories including a record 18 Major wins during his 25-year career, has had one child and five grandchildren attend FSU. His son Steve Nicklaus (1981) and grandson Nick O'Leary (2011-2014) played football for the Seminoles.
“We’ve got a long history here and we enjoy it," Nicklaus said.
"We love Florida State. It’s a great University. We’re very honored to be a part of it and do the golf course.”

They are hoping to start construction on the course in the fall, and have it completely grassed by May 2018. The target completion date is not yet known, but they hope to have the course completed by the start of the 2018 football season.
