ACC takes big financial hit from NCAA tourney

If Duke loses, ACC will make at best $14.4 million less than last season from the tournament -- and that's if UNC plays for the title.

  1. To be fair, I don't believe UNC playing for the title or not makes any difference. I believe after the Final Four, no credits/units are awarded.

Regardless, in 2016 the ACC had a tremendous NCAAT run. One that was NEVER going to happen with any frequent occurence. But, of course, ACC blow hards acted as if it was going to be an annual thing. Nevermind that last year Cuse went to the F4 as a 10 seed.

Sadly, FSU's beatdown played a large part in the payout decrease for this year. Can we please just let Hamilton "retire" and move the f on!?

But let's not freak out over maybe nothing more than a mere $1M/school, either. That's not to say that the ACC and its members are clear of financial concerns vis a vis the Big Ten and SEC.

  2. Best football season ever is followed by biggest NCAAT choke job ever (8 of 9 teams eliminated in the first weekend? Ugh!). This is why we can't have nice things...
