CBS Sports and Jon Solomon just released article detailing the revenue of schools in 2014-2015. The list only has those who broke $100mm but Solomon's tweets indicate that they have the data to make a full report. I am very curious to see a full set of this data to compare teams and conferences. The only other number that I can infer is that ISU had ~$65mm in reported revenue (Solomon said UT made $114mm more than ISU.) Which doesn't seem right as ISU does well for themselves.

edit: ISU made ~$65mm not $35mm per Myoney. Math is hard.

"Other takeaways:
SEC averaged $110.3mm
B1G averaged $103.3mm
Big 12 averaged $99mm
Pac 12 averaged $85.6mm
ACC averaged $83.3mm

The article noted that Texas and OU heavily skewed the Big 12 average. Without them, the average falls to about ~84mm. Although, I don't know why you would exclude those two and not others like FSU and Louisville. Without those two, the ACC falls to about ~78.5 on average.  Someone who is better than me at math can figure it out."

  1. Well, I'm not sure what's going on over there, but Kansas revenues are dominated by "not allocated by particular sport" (56%). They could be trying to hide donations for whatever reason, but I'm not sure how we can say with any confidence that "football revenue dominates, even at basketball schools".

It's ok to have SOME basketball schools in every conference - in fact, it's a good revenue stream to have (especially NCAA credits). The ACC just needs a couple more football schools (e.g. Miami, VT) to step up, IMO.
