Interesting... so based on this year's recruiting, the ACC is trending to be closer to the SEC than to the other 4 P5's in terms of depth (12 teams is closer to 14 than to 7). I can even give Pitt a one-year pass for not making the cut, given their change of head coach. So really, only Syracuse is dragging its feet... and they NEED a new head coach, TBH.
Remember, the ACC STILL lacks quality head coaches, facilities, supportive admins, and general investment compared to these power conferences. The ACC has great geography, what it lacks is conviction to turn that into elite football programs. The ACC has 2 programs committed in football right now. Clemson and FSU. Another 2-3 have some strengths, but MAJOR weaknesses holding them back....everyone else is just hoping to tread water at best.
