Never trust the media folks, they abuse their power and have a 'ends justifies the means' mindset.
Political correctness is the opposite of freedom, but the fact that a huge percentage of people believe everything they read overrides everything.
Is New York Times Smearing Jameis Winston?
"But there is a large body of evidence that The Times has kept from its readers that would lead a discerning reader to another conclusion: that Winston has been cleared by three separate investigations because the evidence shows that his claim that his accuser consented to have sex is as credible as her often-revised account."

There have been a handful of similar stories outlining the numerous omissions, biased reporting and flat out falsehoods from the NY Time's stories. However, all have come from fan blogs or lesser known websites like the one here. This article is more professionally done (actually sought out a response from the Times) than some of the fan blogs. However, it won't see the light of day in the mainstream media or ever get brought the the attention of 95% of the population that takes whatever ESPN and other national media outlets say at face value when it comes to the allegations about Winston.
It's not popular nor politically correct to take the side of a college sports icon over a young woman accusing him of rape, especially when there's a huge national focus on bringing attention to stopping domestic violence and sexual assault.
Not sure what can be done but until somebody in the national media has the courage to step up and tell the truth the yellow journalism and distorted story written by the NY Times will continue to carry the narrative when it comes to the general public judging Winston's character.
