Stadium Improvements

Updated picture for upcoming stadium improvements.  It is rumored that option 2 is what FSU is going with.

Doak construction date set?

"This project will go before the BOT for review this month and with approval to final design and presale so nothing is official except that we are advertising for the design/build team.
There are several " tiers" or levels to the project, think layer cake.
1. The decks where the tents currently are would have a permanent cabana roof with bathrooms, bars, television sets to create a nice outdoor living feel. That would be more common use space for any clubseat holder as well as the 6th floor Osceola Grill with its airconditioned amenities.
2. Coming off that covered deck would be about 13 rows of wide, padded chairback seats with lots of legroom where you would be in the Doak atmosphere with crowd noise but have access to 30,000-35,000 square feet of airconditioned club space right below the canopied decks. Those club seats would replace what is now the 300 section of Doak and would be slightly elevated (10 feet) to create the large air conditioned club space beneath it.
3. That 30-35,000 square foot level of AC club is a common use area for all club seat holders and has a glass wall looking at the field so that the patron can maintain eye contact with the field at all times in addition to dozens of television sets within the club.
4. That air conditiioned area leads to the existing 5,000 square feet of 5th floor dining space that is currently not activated on game days.
5. Those air conditioned club spaces can also be accessed by the second tier of club seats right below it which will replace the 200 level of bleacher seats. Those seats will be wide, padded, with leg room, just like the ones above and will have access to the airconditioned spaces above them and to a club space beneath them in an extension of the existing 3rd floor ballroom.
6. The third floor ballroom will be extended all the way out to the stadium. A glass wall will give club patrons eye contact with the field from the perspective right just behind the Marching Chiefs.
7. The first layer of the endzone will remain as it is in bleachers and with the Marching Chiefs in the current design.
What we like about this conceptual design is that it meets what our Booster members have told us they are looking for which is to be outside in the crowd where they can be a part of the roar and see the pagentry but have access to airconditioning, chairback seats, leg room, adult beverages, elevators and upgraded bathrooms.
We also like the fact that a patron can move anywhere they want to go gaining access to friends in air-conditioned space on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th floor grill or outdoor cabana area without losing visual contact with the field.
One other great aspect of this club seat section, that sets it apart from most club seat sections, is that they can use them on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as other times during the year.
